CARSON CITY, NV:

Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval and legislative leaders have made their appointments to a new Economic Development Board that will be tasked with coordinating economic development activities statewide.

Sandoval named Rob Roy, CEO of Switch in Las Vegas; William Weidner with Gaming Asset Management; and Kathleen Drakulich, an attorney with the McDonald Carano Wilson law firm.

Heather Murren of the Nevada Cancer Institute was appointed by Assembly Speaker John Oceguera, and Benjamin Yerushalmi with the Jewelers of Nevada was named by Senate Majority Leader Steven Horsford.

Senate Minority Leader Mike McGinness appointed Sam Routson with Winnemucca Farms.

The new board was authorized in a bill passed by the 2011 Legislature. Sandoval says the members represent economic sectors the state will be targeting to diversify the economy and attract new jobs.
